OnePlus Pairing with ParanoidAndroid to Bring About OxygenOS
A few weeks ago, OnePlus teased that their custom build OS would be named OxygenOS and that more info on it would be released February 12th. Well, today is the day and OnePlus delivered — albeit not particularly the information you may have been hoping for.
The big takeaway from today’s announcement is that OnePlus will be bring on some of [custom ROM] ParanoidAndroid’s (PA) design and development team members to help construct OxygenOS. Some of the members that will be helping include Aaron Gascoigne and Jesús David Gulfo Agudelo (co-founders), Arz Bhatia (lead designer) and Hieu Nguyen.
Now OnePlus didn’t give a release date yet for the Lollipop-based ROM — which is quite possibly the most wanted piece of information — but they did say the highlights of OxygenOS would include: better battery life, performance, a bloat-free experience, and system efficiency. Those claims are also being affirmed by the community that is now testing the stable build of the OS.
Earlier this week I asked whether the OnePlus One (and the company) is still worth the hype. Do you feel that OxygenOS and this pairing with ParanoidAndroid team members will help the company? Or do you just want OnePlus to release the ROM already?
