Download: Install Lollipop 5.1 on Your Nexus Now [Update: OTAs added]
On Monday, sheer hours after Apple’s event ended, Google announced Android Lollipop 5.1 to the masses. What they failed to do, was send OTA updates to the entire Nexus line so that everyone could have it. Luckily, they have uploaded (some of) the factory images for you to download and flash to your Nexus.
If you head on over to Google Developers site you can go download the images for your specific device. From there you can put your device into bootloader mode and then manually flash the images to your device to get the new version — or you can just wait… nah!
Currently only the Nexus 5, 6, 7 (2012), and 10 have their images uploaded, but the Nexus 7(2013), and 9 shouldn’t be too far behind.
What are you waiting for? Go download and update your device now!
Update: Nexus 5, 6, 7(2012 WiFi) and 10 OTA zips are now available. Download the zip and sideload using recovery into your stock device. Make sure the .zip you download matches the build you have now AND THAT YOU FLASH USING STOCK RECOVERY!
