Samsung Invests Heavily in the Stylus, Strikes $58.9 Million Deal for 5-Percent Stake in Wacom

If any of you were thinking Samsung’s latest obsession with the stylus was just a passing fad, think again. Samsung is heavily committed to the S Pen and why wouldn’t they be, they’ve been selling millions of devices wielding this new age stylus.

Samsung is now taking their obsession one step further by purchasing a 5-percent stake in Wacom, a leader in graphical input technology.

5-percent might not sound like very much, but it’s enough to expand Samsung’s relationship with the company as well as dump $58.9 million into “product development and manufacturing and supply system enhancements for products to be supplied to Samsung Electronics.”

It looks like the stylus will be sticking around for a while, so you might as well start getting used to it.
