Qualcomm Wants to Charge Your Device 75-Percent Faster With Quick Charge 2.0

Qualcomm wants users to spend less time charging and more time doing, according to their Quick Charge slogan. After introducing Quick Charge 1.0, an in-device solution that enables devices to charge up to 40% faster, Qualcomm is already busy working on Quick Charge 2.0, which is expected to charge up to 75% faster than products without Quick Charge.

While I certainly can’t complain about having a solution for charging up my devices faster, I’d much rather see companies working on a solution to have my battery LAST LONGER!

The only time I really care about having a quick charge is when I’m in a power pickle and need juice quickly. Otherwise, I’d simply like my device to last me throughout the day (no matter the amount of use) so I can set it on the charger at night and wake up refreshed in the morning.

I’m certainly not going to discourage Qualcomm for their efforts, and applaud them for not only looking at solutions to improve power consumption by their chips, but also for looking at ways in which they can get devices charged up more quickly. I appreciate the effort, so kudos to you Qualcomm.
